Q: Can I choose the child I would like to sponsor?

A: Yes! When you sign up, you can provide us with the name of a specific child you would like to sponsor. To view the list of children currently in FHC’s child sponsorship program, click HERE.

Q: Can I visit my sponsored child, write letters to him/her, or send small gifts?

A: Absolutely! Many sponsors have visited their child at FHC. Our children love receiving letters, cards and small gifts, especially for special events like their birthday and Christmas. If you’d like to send something, please contact us. If possible, we can coordinate the transport of a small package with a mission team which will reduce time and cost. Because our children are young, the majority are unable to personally correspond with their sponsor. From time to time the children may send drawings or pictures to their sponsors.

Q: What type of information will I receive about the child I sponsor?

A: When you commit to sponsoring a child at FHC, you will receive a profile of your child. Several times throughout the year, you will receive an update on your child, including a written report, video update, and craft. The update will include photos, a detailed update on the child’s development and prayer needs. We’ll also share updates on the child’s reunification or adoption process, medical updates, favorite activities, and more.

Q: What happens if the child I am sponsoring is reunified with their family or adopted?

A: That means you have prayed and supported your child all the way into the arms of a loving forever family - thank you!  We will notify you when your child has joined their family through reunification or adoption. At that time, we will provide details on another child at FHC in need of your support and will transfer your sponsorship. You can cancel your sponsorship at any time.

Q: Can a group/organization sponsor a child?

A: Yes. Families, organizations, clubs, etc. may share the cost of sponsoring a child. This is a great opportunity for a group project – such as a Sunday school class, Bible study group, or school class.

Q. Do the children have more than one sponsor?

A: Yes, each child has multiple sponsors in order to fully support the cost of the child’s care. The average cost of caring for a child at FHC is $1,000 per month. Your support makes it possible to provide a child at FHC with a nutritious diet, specialized medical attention, physical, language and other types of therapy, education in an appropriate school environment, and more! Q: Are children in the sponsorship program cleared for adoption?

A: Please note that not all children in FHC’s sponsorship program are cleared for adoption. If you are interested in adopting from Ecuador, you can read more HERE and contact an agency in your country of residence.
