An early Christmas Gift

Christmas came early for little Gabriela* as she was able to meet her forever family! With a bow almost as big as her tiny head and a stunning red dress, Gabriela ran as fast as she could to meet the loving arms of her dad, mom, and sister.

Gabriela was born prematurely and spent her first three months of life in the hospital. She arrived at FHC when she was just a few months old. Because of her premature birth, she was underweight and small for her age, so continual medical supervision and dietary supplements were needed to help her grow. The tías would carefully monitor her diet, ensuring she always had balanced meals.

Now Gabriela is almost two, and she is used to attracting a lot of attention. One of her caregivers, Anita, describes her as a “little doll”; people just cannot resist exclaiming over how cute she is! And her personality is just as charming. She is friendly and curious, learning something new every day. She is always looking for objects to play with and especially loves toys that make sounds, fit together, or have bright colors. She is sweet and affectionate and loves to dance.

Gabriela is as active and mischievous as toddlers come; she has been known to attempt to climb over the cribs on more than one occasion! She loves to walk and play in the ball pit and enjoys the pool, where she will paddle her hands and feet, moving like a little motor in an attempt to swim. With the help of the speech therapist, she learned simple words like “más” (more), “amen,” and “tía” (aunt, or caregiver). The tías will often tell her about God’s love, that He is her provider, and will always be there for her.

In a beautiful and emotional goodbye party, sweet Gabriela bid farewell to her friends and tías. It's a moment of rejoicing in God’s mercy and goodness, as we witness His power at work - restoring lives and bringing families together. Your support has made this possible, providing Gabriela with the precious gift of a family, undoubtedly the best gift one can receive. Thank you!

Please continue to pray for Gabriela and her family as they adjust to life together. Pray that the bond they form grows stronger each day.
